Silvana lives with Hereditary Sensory and Motor Neuropathy Type 3 (HSMN TYP 3), a rare and progressive neuromuscular disorder that severely impacts her mobility, coordination, and daily independence.
HSMN Type 3, also known as Dejerine–Sottas disease, affects the peripheral nerves, leading to muscle weakness, sensory loss, and motor dysfunction. For Silvana, this means tasks many take for granted—opening doors, maintaining balance, picking up dropped items—can be exhausting, painful, or even impossible without help.
Despite the physical challenges, Silvana’s spirit remains unbreakable. She is now seeking support to obtain a professionally trained assistance dog that will provide essential aid with her daily activities, increase her safety, and offer much-needed companionship.
