December 2, 2024- Valley Stream, New York - 8 Year old, New York -based author Jomo Jesus Thomas Suriel recently became a multiple Gold Winner in the Mom’s Choice Book Awards for his children’s picture books The Angry Vacuum and The Emotions Volcano. The books are part of his pioneering emotional intelligence children’s books series featuring the heroine siblings, Sid the Super Happy Kid and Laura the Emotions Explorer that are illustrated by his father, Jomo Gamal Thomas. The two child hero characters focus on helping kids manage emotional and mental health for young children and neuro divergent learners. Jomo Jesus is a staunch education advocate for mental health and emotional literacy for children and kids on the autism spectrum. In 2024, he has donated over 300 copies of his books to promote emotional literacy and children's mental health awareness. He also donates his books for free to help and encourage emotional literacy as he wants to help more kids learn to manage emotions and harness the power of emotional intelligence.
